Working very closely with citizens, elected officials, and town management, the Chief of Police is responsible for establishing effective measures to address criminal activity within the Town limits. The Chief of Police is also charged with staying current on local, State, and Federal issues related to effective law enforcement, and maintaining positive and effective working relationships both within Cornelius and with outside agencies. In addition to having Departmental wide responsibility, the Chief of Police has direct oversight of the Planning and Analysis function and the North Mecklenburg Communications Center that provides 911 emergency communications to Cornelius, Huntersville, and Davidson College. |
