On February 1, 2010, James Carr joined the Cornelius Police Department as a Uniformed Patrol Officer. Carr decided to pursue a career in Law Enforcement after working for almost 14 years at Freightliner in Rowan County.

 
He brings to the Department strong leadership skills and abilities; he served as a Team Leader during his tenure at Freightliner.  James grew up in Mooresville, NC and completed his Basic Law Enforcement Training at Mitchell Community College.  Carr earned his credentials in Early Childhood Development as well as receiving computer training at Mitchell Community College.  In his spare time, he enjoys playing tennis and running 5Ks.
